About AMICUS

AMICUS is open to male and female members on an equal basis between age 14 (school years 9/10) to age 22. At present we do not have any female members. Our current AMICUS group all play in the company steel band, the 'CariBBean Sound' and will be visiting Denmark in the summer of 2001. Although an optional activity, many of the group are working towards the Silver level of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and some are working for their Queen's Badge.

Activities

Activities undertaken by our AMICUS group include:

Laserquest Go-Karting Ten Pin Bowling
Millionaire Quiz Ready Steady Cook Monopoly Tournament
Superstars Crafts Hostelling
Badminton Volleyball Cinema Trips

The AMICUS section has more freedom over its activities than the other sections and can devise its own programme. In the past AMICUS members have been able to choose their level of invlovement in senior badge work or whether to concentrate on AMICUS activities, although most opt for both. Our AMICUS section has taken part in diverse programmes, some created entirely by its members and some taken from the seniors box of activities.
